Bible Numbers For Life

Home Page    Bible Numbers – The List    Bible Chapters by Number

Bible numbers enrich spiritual understanding.

For example, in the story of Jesus turning the water into wine it is written:

“Now there were set there six jars of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews..” (John 2:6)

Is it significant that there were six jars?  Yes, otherwise it would not be written in the Scripture.  The number six is the number of man, since man was created on day six.  Man was made from the dust and the stone jars are symbolic of our flesh.  When Jesus turned the water into wine it was a miracle in the literal sense because the wedding feast did not run out of wine.  It was also symbolic of the new spiritual life Jesus would soon bring to man.  This life would begin with an inner…

A Reminder that Nothing is Impossible

Miracles DO happen.

Hack GOD

Israelis have a recent account of God’s intervention on a battlefield called, The Yom Kipper War Miracle of 1973.   This began while places of worship filled as a surprise attack launched with 150 tanks that the Syrian army maneuvered into Israel.   As the expanse of weaponry approached, from a hilltop, Jewish defense forces (IDF) spotted them.   Thus, IDF members immediately deployed in their available three tanks to hold off the incursion.  The team readied themselves and began to attack the invader as column after column of enemy armory came within range.
Strangely, an oddity emerged as the Syrian army halted their advance halfway up the hill.   From the enemy standpoint, it is a great day to attack the Jews since it is a holiday.  Jewish perspective reflected on the new nation’s recent actions not approved by God.   While they gathered, they had deep gratitude in the restoration of the state…

My bible name  means- GOD has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household

(No worries! I  forgot the Old World Countries!).

When Joseph(USA) saw his father(GOD) placing his right hand on Ephraim’s (Hawaii’s) head (as a blessing) he was displeased; so he took hold of his father’s hand to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s (Alaska’s) head. ~ Genesis 48:17

Joseph part 1

JOSEPH (USA) continued…

Now he (Joseph or USA) had still another dream, and related it to his brothers (old world countries), and said, “Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” He related it to his father(GOD) and to his brothers; and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have had? Shall I and your mother and your brothers actually come to bow ourselves down before you to the ground?” His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the saying in mind.        Genesis 37:9-11

In the next six verses, the brothers take the flock to a nearby land to graze. Then, their father sends Joseph to check the welfare of his brothers. When he gets there,  he can not find his kin. A man finds Joseph wandering about and informs him that his brothers moved the herd to yet another region close-by.  Therefore, he went and found them there.

When they (older brothers) saw him (Joseph) from a distance and before he came close to them, they plotted against him to put him to death. They said to one another, “Here comes this dreamer! “Now then, come and let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits; and we will say, ‘A wild beast devoured him.’ Then let us see what will become of his dreams!”… But Reuben (first-born) heard this and rescued him out of their hands and said, “Let us not take his life.”Reuben further said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but do not lay hands on him”– that he might rescue him out of their hands, to restore him to his father.      Genesis 37:18-22

The words of the blessing of Enoch wherewith he blessed the Elect and righteous who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. And he took up this parable and said: Enoch a righteous man whose eyes were opened by GOD, saw a vision of the Holy Ones in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one, which is to come… ~Book of Enoch

Saint Joseph, Stepfather of GOD

Uncategorized

Joseph the Commoner lived.  Then, when Joseph the Beast of Burden accepted the role of Stepfather, he got to live again.  He never lost his teeth.  He never contended with aches and pains as he aged and he lived until he was 111.  The man reared a King; even the KING.

There is something unique about stepfathers.   Selected for a special place, they accept a vital function in a father’s absence to guide a youngster’s life.  Although, not a feat for everyone.  For, many a man cringes at first glance of that station which normally belongs to another man.  Even Joseph winced though tried and true.   Perhaps, chosen for his wisdom, stability, and skills that takes time to cultivate.  He was simple, mild, and a woodworker by trade.  He was Joseph the Carpenter, Stepfather of God.

Before the last century, there were little known facts about the man who became the fleshly Father of GOD on Earth.  Joseph was middle-aged and the children grown when his wife died.   Behind him, his youth, companionship, a home full of voices, and the feel of purpose family life had.  His were good memories.  When he looked back, he probably assumed the best of life was over.  Nonetheless, most of what we know about Joseph had just begun.

Joseph was probably a widower when he first met the girl named Mary.  He was decades her senior.  She was sweet, seemed pure, and the man Joseph was nice to her.  He knew she had not wed.  However, nothing implies he had romantic feelings toward her then.  Eventually, the situation turned bizarre.  When Joseph noticed Mary carried a child in her womb, she swore there was no father, and said God chose him for the job.

Frankly, Mary’s claims could not relate with truth.   Perhaps, she was young, naive, and not quite pure, as she seemed. Anyway, we all know it takes two to make a baby.  Joseph the Carpenter determined to put distance between him and her.  He knew it could go no further.  Thus, to that aim he schemed.  From his life, he would somehow rid her.

Of course, that is not what happened.  An angel came to him in his sleep.  He would take the virgin, Mary, and help raise the Son of Man, the Son of God.  They moved often.  Joseph took the family to Egypt first, to escape Herod.  Next, they moved back to Israel, resided in places like Jericho, Jerusalem, and Nazareth while Jesus grew.  More often than not, town elders demanded the family move away because of miracles often displayed by the lad, Jesus, at the horror of self-righteous, hypocritical Pharisees; the leaders of the church.  In cases like these, Joseph was a very nervous Stepfather.

Joseph continued his craft, lifelong, specializing in making farming equipment such as gates, crates, plows, and variety of furnishings as well.  Joseph was not exactly an expert.  However, Jesus liked to help His parents, as does every child.  Therefore, as the Son turned five and six, Joseph usually took his boy with him on errands, and Jesus helped him with his work.

Once, the King of Jerusalem commissioned Joseph to build a custom throne for the space he is normally seated.  For two years, the project moved forward at the palace until nearly complete and Joseph was ready to install it.  Sadly, the royal station was too narrow in width for the prescribed function.  It made Joseph very distraught when he realized his error.  What’s more, the King was furious with Joseph.

That evening Joseph was unable to eat and went right to bed.  When Jesus saw His Stepfather was upset, He felt concerned, and asked why.  Joseph explained, “I wasted two years and tons of labor in this failure”.  Jesus replied, “Do not fear.  Neither, should you be upset.  You hold one end, I will hold the other, and we will stretch it to the proper size”.  Indeed, both pulled as hard as they could.  The throne obeyed and grew to the perfect size for placement.  It was astonishing to those standing near and seeing such things.  They lifted their hands, and gave praise to God!

Nothing Impossible

Israelis have a recent account of God’s intervention on a battlefield called, The Yom Kipper War Miracle of 1973.   This began while places of worship filled as a surprise attack launched with 150 tanks that the Syrian army maneuvered into Israel.   As the expanse of weaponry approached, from a hilltop, Jewish defense forces (IDF) spotted them.   Thus, IDF members immediately deployed in their available three tanks to hold off the incursion.  The team readied themselves and began to attack the invader as column after column of enemy armory came within range.

If the small Israeli defense force did not see it, they might never believe it. Their minimal protection impeded that massive offensive strike!   Nevertheless, what happened that day seemed a puzzle to many. Then, the Secret Service questioned one of the Syrian commanders as concerned the incident.  Specifically, the investigator asked, “What is the reason you came to a stop on the mountain line in the Golan Heights”? The officer answered, “I would like to see you cross that Syrian mountain line if you saw an entire row of white angels standing on the mountain line”.   Then he added, “And a white hand from heaven motioning to you – STOP.  I stopped”.

Chag HaAsif (Festival of Ingathering)

A song that I sang on the 1st day of Sukkot (October 9th 2014). I spent some time in prayer in my home…I asked The Lord for a word to those He Loves. Immediately after prayer I felt a song needed to be expressed….this is what came to share. I pray it is a blessing to you in this season.

P.s. I did pray in the Spirit during this song. I will share more on praying in the Spirit in future blogs; the purpose, as well as the Biblical background. On a basic level, for those unfamiliar or skeptical….the Spirit intercedes on our behalf. I prayed to God in song…in this case a form of worship and intercession concurrently.
Quick scriptures to note… Romans 8:26, Ephesians 6:18

A psalm of David

Uncategorized

The LORD is my shepherd

I shall not want

He makes me lie down in green pastures

He leads me beside still waters

He restores my soul

He guides me in the paths of goodness for His name’s sake

Yea, even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

I fear no evil

You are with me

Your rod and staff

Those comfort me

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies

You have anointed my head with oil

My cup overflows

Surely, grace and mercy will follow me all the days of my life

And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever
